| The Incas were on to something when they colonised Peru. They must have recognised the breathtaking geographical diversity of what is now the third largest country in South America and, in their wake, added the indelible print of their own fascinating culture for the rest of us to marvel at today. The best known Inca ruin is arguably Machu Picchu but, scattered throughout the coastal desert, Andes mountains and Amazon rainforest that constitute Peru, you'll find many examples of this - and other - ancient civilisations. Along the way you may eat cuy (guinea pig), drink pisco, pick up some colourful indigenous weavings or come face to face with some amazing wildlife - and this is just for starters. We recommend you come and see for yourself, as this is a truly fascinating country in which to learn Spanish.
