The DELF (Diplôme d’études en langue française) and DALF (Diplôme approfondi de langue française) are French language proficiency certificates delivered by the French Ministry of Education assessing the fluency of non-native French speakers. As internationally recognised qualifications across French-speaking countries, the DELF and DALF are designed for those who want to gain entry to universities as well as professionals who want to work in a French-speaking environment.
Cactus Language offers a number of DELF/DALF Preparation courses across France, which will prepare you for the exam, teach you the techniques you need to know, and will help you get the score you need.
All six certificates have the same value, but are designed for different purposes and levels. Each certificate is independent: you don’t need to take all six exams. You should register for the certificate that is the most adequate to your level and goals. For more information, you can visit the CIEP’s website.
The exam itself is divided into four sections: listening, speaking, reading and writing. Depending on the exam chosen, each section will last between 15 and 60 minutes.
