Winter in Shanghai is pretty cold mainly because of the humidity level - so take warm clothes if you come during this season.
Spring is nice and the summer lovely and hot, but beware of the rainy season around June and July - don't forget your raincoat and umbrella! Autumn is a very pleasant season in Shanghai (18° - 16°) neither too dry nor humid and with constant temperatures.

A cultural activity programme is offered each week but remains optional.
The afternoon activities are proposed for a reasonable admission fee or even free of charge...
Afternoon cultural activities include: Calligraphy, visit to a famous culturals sites of Shanghai, Paper cutting, Dumpling making (tasting included!), Cultural lectures (Chinese culture, Chinese NewYear, and more ...). The activities schedule changes every week and activities should be booked on a Monday locally.
Weekend Excursions include: Great Wall in Beijing, Mount Laoshan or Qufu (birthplace of Confucius) in Qingdao, Acrobat show...

Staying with a host family is a great way to immerse yourself in the local culture and to ensure that you practice your language skills outside the classroom. This option offers you a much fuller immersion experience than staying in a hostel or residence. You will experience every day life first hand in modern China and your host family will provide meals, conversation, and daily activities.
You will have your own single room with a bed, desk, chair, wardrobe and bed linen, towels and blankets provided.
You will have access to the kitchen although breakfast and dinner are provided.
The bathroom is usually shared with other students staying with the family. Host families provide a washing machine, TV and air-conditioning as well as free broadband Internet access, telephone and free local phone calls.
Because of the size of Shanghai it is unlikely that your host family will be in walking distance of the school. Families are usually located a maximum of 50 minutes from the school. |

| Here you can live on your own or with a partner. This option gives you a clean, private and comfortable living experience. These apartments are mostly newly renovated in residential buildings. Most of them are located with 30 mins of the school on foot or are accessible easily by public transport. The apartments are basically furnished and provide greater privacy than a shared apartment. |

| These are good quality apartments in a residence only 10 mins from the school in a nice downtown area of Shanghai. Newly renovated they consist of 2 or 3 bedroom apartments offering shared bathroom with shower, shared kitchen with microwave and cooker, washing machine, fridge, water-cooler, air conditioning, shared living room with broadband internet access. Bedrooms can be locked with a key. Towels and bed linen are provided and a cleaning lady visits twice a week. |
