:: Welcome to Boston

Considering its modest size, it’s amazing what a popular, influential and world-renowned city Boston has remained. It has a hype surrounding it that other cities may have found it hard to live up to, but not Boston. The capital of the state of Massachusetts and, unofficially, of the entire New England region, it is one of the oldest cities in the whole of America. As a result, it is home to a vast array of fascinating historic sites, but it’s not just these that attract the tourists. Walking around Boston, visitors can take in the quaint brownstone-lined streets, the many neighbourhoods so full of character and distinct in their own way, the big-city entertainment venues, and of course the beloved Red Sox and their Fenway stadium. In addition all of this, it would be impossible when talking about Boston not to mention the one thing that has most influenced the city over the years – its world-famous educational institutions. The likes of Harvard and MIT have long attracted philosophers, scientists and writers, and these days not just from America but from all over the world, which ensures that Boston has an atmosphere that is not only vibrant and exciting, but cosmopolitan too.
