Spanish General Language & Salsa Course (20 language + 10 dance lessons per week)
Havana Miramar School
It's not all about sitting in a classroom... picking up a language is as much about getting out there and doing it as it is about learning verb tables. Salsa is one of the most complex Latin dances. It is more than a dance, in fact: it is the spice of life for most Caribbeans and has evolved into a worldwide phenomenon, with dancing studios and salsa clubs in many cities.
Your group language classes will take place in the morning, while the afternoons feature two lessons per day of this exciting and creative dance in the
authentic atmosphere of this school in Havana. You'll learn about the various styles with your own Cuban dancing partner and you'll have the cultural experience of a lifetime.

The School - Havana Miramar
Modern building in Miramar just a few blocks back from the sea. The school building is very modern and classrooms are bright, spacious and air conditioned. By staying in the hotel, just down the coast in Miramar, any stress from learning the language is quickly forgotten - go for a dip in one of the pools or take a walk through the lush gardens. Set among the tropical gardens, all hotel apartments are comfortably equipped with a kitchen, balcony or terrace, air conditioning, bath/wc, minibar, telephone and cable tv.
Students can eat at one of the good hotel restaurants, or nearby in one of the neighbourhood's privately run Cuban restaurants, which offer excellent value and a great opportunity to speak Spanish. Unfortunately, the public transport in Havana is very dilapidated and rather unreliable. We recommend taking a taxi, or a coco-taxi, if you want to go to into Old Havana. You will also have the chance to explore La Habana Vieja through the various school activities on offer.
Group lessons usually take place in the morning but may sometimes take place in the afternoon, especially during high season. Individual lessons may take place in the school or in your teacher's home. Both group and individual timetables will be confirmed on your first day.

Best Time to Go
Havana's climate is humid and subtropical but moderated by seawinds. That is why the mean annual temperature ranges barely between 24 and 26 degrees C. Average temperatures range from 22 degrees C in January and February to 28 degrees C in August. Rainfall is heaviest in October and lightest from February through April. Hurricanes occasionally strike the island, but they ordinarily hit the south coast, and damage in Havana is normally less than elsewhere in the island.
