French French & Surfing (20 & 10 lessons)
Biarritz School

It's not all about sitting in a classroom...picking up a language is as much about getting out there and doing it as it is about learning verb tables. Our Language & Activity courses are the perfect opportunity to combine language classes with a whole range of exciting activities, from salsa, cooking and wine tasting to surfing, diving, tennis, golf, and much more. Your group language classes will take place in the morning, leaving the afternoons free to indulge in a brand new activity or perhaps an old favourite. So whether you're a beginner or a pro, you can share your passion with others from across the globe and come back having learnt a lot more than just the language.

2 week course combining General Course in French (20 lessons per week) with 10 lessons each week of surfing!

What other students have said...

"I am back in England after my stay in France. The 2 week was course was great.... they put me in the middle group and it was a bit hard but in the end it was the right one for me. I learnt a lot and the teachers were great. I spent the next week hitch hiking down to Perpignan speaking as much as possible to use my new found French... it was a great success. The best part was sitting in cafes just listening to the people talking."
(Trevor Warman - November 2007)

"The school was easy to get to and provided parking which was very convenient. Elodie was particularly welcoming and friendly. We were placed in a class which stretched us, which was just what we needed. The teaching quality was excellent and the ambience within the classroom was friendly, conducive to work and non-threatening.
Biarritz is fascinating and once we became familiar with the layout we began to discover more, but a week is not enough!
Our accommodation was perfect! Our host family were very "sympa" and put themselves out for us. With a head sommelier in The Hotel du Palais and an ex-restaurent owner in the family we ate and drank in five star luxury. We are also looking forward to welcoming them to our home soon. They were equally excellent at reinforcing the language we had learnt at the school. In addition they took us out on visits - amazing!"
(Clare Leek - October 2007)

"I thought the school was really good! Although the chairs were a little uncomfortable! The teacher was very good and the excercises we did on the computer were excellent, I learned loads! Watching movies in french and the activities that were provided was really benifical! I stayed with a single woman and I couldn't have been given a better family! She was an excellent cook! and we got on great! The town was lovely!"
(Kate Brennan - June 2007)

"I chose Cactus because of the travel authority certificates. The classes were absolutely excellent! lovely enthusiastic teachers and a nice working environment. I stayed with a family. again this was excellent and I enjoyed the extra language practice. I enjoyed the variety of activities. a french and sport course is so good for clearing all the cobwebs away and there was no time to be bored. I also enjoyed meeting new friends"
(Georgie Tym, June 2007)

"I chose Cactus because of their very good service, they offer a lot of choice and have an easy way of booking.
The school was great! Lovely atmosphere. The teachers were great. Everybody tried to make my stay as comfortable as it could be.
Nice people.
The city was very nice. I stayed in the youth hostel of Biarritz. That was great! the people, the food, the rooms....everything was very nice!
What I most enjoyed about my trip was learning French and getting to know all the people! And of course going after school at the beach."
(Rosalie Kubny, July 2006)

"I chose Cactus because it was the cheapest price, and for the location of school, and the fact that the course was still running Surfing and French in December. Biarritz is a very nice town, with lovely beaches and nice facilities in the town. My accommodation was with a host family; excellent, a friendly family and the location could not have been more convienient. It was close to the town centre, the beaches and the bus stop, and in a nice old fashioned shopping area. The things I most enjoyed were the language lessons, the time spent at home with the french family, the food, and the time with the other students."
(Mark Baker, Dec 2005)

"I chose Cactus because of the location of the class and flexibility for the individual class. The offerings from the school were very complete and professional. The staff was hospitable and was prepared to offer information about activities, the area, etc.We rented an apartment by the ocean -- one that we found on the internet. The city -- Biarritz -- is wonderful. We enjoyed the city and the surroundings. We also enjoyed the classes and the instructor."
(Thea Sullivan, Feb 2005)
