The School - Kaplan International Colleges Bath
Kaplan is located in Trim Street in the heart of Bath, in an historic 18th century townhouse that used to belong to General Wolfe - who captured Quebec in a famous battle in 1742. The Roman Baths, the Pump Rooms, the Abbey, shops and restaurants are all within a few minutes' walk of the school, and the bus and rail stations are just 5-10 minutes away. The school also uses a second building located on Milsom Street, just two minutes' walk from the main building, which offers more spacious classrooms. Facilities include comfortably furnished classrooms, a library with audio study facilities, a computer centre with wireless connection, a common room with tea and coffee facilities, TV and video facilities, a courtyard, offices, and daily newspaper and magazines are provided for student use. In total Kaplan has capacity for around 100 students.
The school organises a weekly programme of activities for students to enjoy throughout the year, with a minimum of two activities per week and one excursion every weekend. During July and August, optional afternoon and evening activities are also organised. Typical activities include a variety of sports (football, golf, tennis, swimming, horse riding, rugby and abseiling) along with pub evenings and quizzes, parties, karaoke evenings and country walks. These are a great way to meet fellow students, practise English and make the most of Bath and the surrounding area. Further afield, typical excursions include trips to the famous university city of Oxford; Warwick Castle; Stratford-upon-Avon, the home of Shakespeare; the lively Welsh city of Cardiff; the bustling commercial centre of Bristol, with its shopping area and famous zoo; legendary Stonehenge; delightful villages in the Cotswolds and other surrounding beauty spots. There's certainly never a shortage of things to do, and the social activities manager is always on hand to help you make the most of your time here.
