IELTS Preparation Course in Leeds (30 lessons per week)
This is a full-time course that combines the general skills needed to live and study in the UK with special exam preparation classes. Each week you will attend 22 hours of classes. The morning classes (3 hours per day) focus on General English skills. Here you will be given the opportunity to improve your overall speaking, listening, reading and writing abilities, by using a variety of teaching resources and with a variety of themes and topics. It is essential to improve your General English in order to achieve your desired band in IELTS.
Afternoon classes (1.5 hours per day) focus on language skills, as well as exam skills and exam practice. You will focus on all parts of the test, practising the different question types and learning the skills you need to do your best. You will also work on increasing your range and your accuracy of grammar and vocabulary.
The aim of the course is to improve overall attainment in the four key skills areas of reading, writing, listening and speaking. The IELTS preparation module uses specialised study materials and previous Cambridge IELTS test papers to focus on areas of weakness and enable students to achieve their required grade under mock test conditions prior to entering for the actual test. An average of 1 hour of self-study/homework is set every day, and students are expected to complete this on their own time.
When students are ready to take the IELTS test the school administrator will assist you in completing the test registration form and booking the next available test date at the nearest IELTS testing centre. This service is offered to all registered students at no additional cost. The exam is offered approximately once per month. The course price does not include the exam fee of approx £140.

Staying with a host family is without doubt one of the best ways to immerse yourself in the language and culture of a country. They may not speak your language but that's all part of the learning experience - and fun! All host families are carefully selected and located within walking distance, or a short bus ride, of the school. You stay in a single room and receive meals as stated (bed & breakfast, half board or full board). Most families can cater for special dietary requirements, bed linen is provided, and laundry service and towels are sometimes included. A key is given to the outside door so you can come and go as you please. If for any reason you do not wish to eat at home please just notify the family in advance. It's great to experience the different cultural aspects of living with a family, such as different food and meal times, but please respect these too. We also suggest that you take some pictures of your family, friends and home as these can act as useful props for discussion. Most familes are within a 20-35 minute journey (walking or bus) from the school. During the summer you may need to travel for up to 45 minutes to get to the school. Students can choose single or double , half board or full board. The family provides bed linen. Laundry service is available once a week. Special meals can be provided for students with special needs.
