Cactus has hosted several successful language taster social evenings again this year at Malvern House in London (March) and at the Brighton Fringe Festival (May). We'll plan more events later in the year, so watch this space!

The Languages Show October 2010
 |
Cactus was involved in hosting a range of language seminars at the Languages Show again this year, providing expert trainers to teach Russian, Swedish and German. The show was another big success, with great feedback from visitors and a chance the Cactus team to catch-up with industry partners. We're looking forward to exhibiting again in 2011.

Cactus Language Taster Evenings

Cactus hosted four language taster evenings in 2010, at venues including Malvern House in Kings Cross, St Giles College in Brighton and London Study Centre in Fulham. We taught over 200 people a range of new languages, from Spanish to Mandarin, and made a few new friends along the way. Watch this space for 2011.

Language Taster Evening, St John’s University, Tribeca, New York, 23rd September 2009

Cactus' taster evening in Tribeca offered attendees the chance to find out more about learning French and Arabic, and to get $50 off the price of an evening course. The next event is on December 10th when the taster sessions will be in Spanish and Polish.

London Language Show, with live music on its stand each
day - including Sam singing 1920s French classics accompanied
by Nigel on accordeon, Heike singing her funny and quirky
German songs and a sizzling display of Flamenco accompanied
by top guitarist and composer Ricardo Garcia.

BBC Learning Zone: Feb 2007
Cactus were delighted to feature in a BBC Spanish Shorts programme aimed at encouraging children at GCSE Level to study a language.
The programme was shown on BBC2's Learning Zone, its unique overnight record and play service, at 5am on Fri 23rd Feb. Language Travel Advisor Alex Wolfson showed how Spanish is used in the workplace at Cactus, and how speaking a language can open the door to many diverse, fun and sometimes unexpected career opportunities.
Alex was interviewed in Spanish and English, explaining how he uses his language skills to communicate with schools across the world when making bookings for our language travel clients, or when speaking to companies from abroad wanting to organise language training. The second part of the film then featured Alex going to popular local venue Komedia to discuss language training for their staff dealing on a regular basis with international music, dance and theatre groups.

Cactus English UK Party: 30th
Aug '06
We pushed the boat out for our last English
UK party in Brighton, which took place late
summer in Brighton's luxurious Hotel du Vin. Schools,
educators and agents joined us for an evening
of Pimms and canapés, mingling and networking...thanks
very much to everyone who attended, and we look
forward to a successful year working with you!
