Teri Blythe: 1 Week Spanish in La Paz, March 05

"I chose Cactus because the price was good and the contact I had with staff was very efficient. The school was good - I was a little disappointed that I was the only one in the class, but the teaching was good because of the one to one ratio. My teacher, Javier, was also kind, patient and interesting, and he helped me to learn.

I really enjoyed my time in La Paz, felt safe and found it very useful to be staying within walking distance of the school and centre of town/tourist area. I stayed in the family home of Fidel and Ruth, both of whom were very kind and helpful, and they definitely helped me to practise my Spanish.

It would have been useful to learn a little Spanish before I went, to really benefit as much as possible. Once I was there many people told me that 'one week isn't enough to learn anything'! In any case I spent 3 weeks travelling independently around Bolivia after my language lessons and found the Spanish I had learnt invaluable."

Nicole Titera: 2 Week French Course in Paris, April 05

"Cactus offered a course in Paris during the Easter holidays which was convenient for me. The website was also very informative and I felt safe booking on it.

The school was great and everyone there was really welcoming. The classes were interesting and really varied so I never got bored. All the students were encouraged to contribute to the class by the teacher, who was lovely, which created a really nice environment to learn in. I really enjoyed meeting other people on the course, and it was nice to be able to talk to people that were at the same level as me. I also enjoyed improving my French over my two weeks there.

Paris was a really nice place to stay as there are plenty of things to do there. I think that it pretty much sells itself - I was already a big fan before I went. The school was located in a nice area with lots of places to eat close by. There is also a metro station just next to the school which made travelling to and from the school really easy. The service that Cactus offer is great as far as I'm concerned."
