Take Your Spanish to the Heights With Our Prize Trip to Barcelona - Express Careers, Nov 18th 2004

* Congratulations to Tom Stubbs, a 1st year student at Oxford Uni, who was our lucky prize winner! Tom will be jetting off to Barcelona on 2nd Jan 05 and a full article about his trip will follow in the Express on his return. *

HAVING a second language is increasingly seen as a vital asset to a serious CV, while learning to speak another language is undoubtedly an interesting and rewarding achievement in itself.

Today, Spanish is the most widely used language in the world, spoken by even more people than English. And with Spain and its islands being among the most popular holiday destinations for British tourists, there’s no more useful language if you are considering a career in a travel-related, or similar, field.

To help you get started, Express Careers has teamed up with Cactus Worldwide, the leading provider of language holidays, to give one lucky student the chance of spending a week in Barcelona learning Spanish at one of Cactus’s excellent approved schools.

The winner will be flown to Barcelona where they will receive six nights’ accommodation with a host family or in a shared flat, as preferred, and a five-day General Spanish Course consisting of 20 language lessons (four lessons each day, Monday to Friday) at the school – all completely free. Meals are included with a host family (breakfast & evening meal) but not in the shared apartment
option (kitchen facilities are provided). The school runs a full programme of activities and excursions to nearby places of interest, some of which are free and some of which incur a small fee payable locally.

Staff of Cactus, based in Brighton, have personally chosen, and visited, all the destinations, schools and accommodation that they offer to clients. All holidays are tailor-made to suit personal requirements.

For more information on the courses offered by Cactus, see www.cactus language.com
