Founded on the banks of the Rhône and the Saône, France's second largest city enjoys a convenient location less than two hours by TGV from Paris and close to Geneva, the Alps and the Mediterranean. Lyon is a sophisticated university city that offers culture, history and entertainment in equal measure. It's perhaps most famous, however, for its gastronomy; it is known as the food capital of France, and whether you head to one of its Michelin-starred restaurants or the informal ‘bouchon’ bistros, you won’t be disappointed.
Students can choose from a variety of French courses in Lyon, ranging from General French to the more specialist DELF/DALF exam preparation or the French plus cooking course. Accommodation is offered with local French families for the most authentic cultural experience, or in a student residence for a more independent stay.
