Set in the north of France with the English Channel, or La Manche, lapping at its shores and the murmurs of bustling Parisian life a little to the south, Normandy is not too different, and certainly not too far, from the south of England. Its patchwork countryside of fields, farmland and hedgerows leads up to what is now a coastline of attractive seaside resorts - the same coastline that witnessed the D-day landings of WWII, the same coastline that once attracted Impressionist painters, and the same coastline that for years has produced seafood of exceptional quality. And with a prime setting amongst Normandy’s medieval towns and villages, just over 100km from both the sea and Paris, is the 60 hectare campus of our junior school at Verneuil sur Avre.
