If you want to go to Frankfurt at least you won't have a problem getting there: sitting conveniently in the centre of Germany, it is undoubtedly the country's largest transit hub. It is also Germany's financial centre, being home to the stock exchange and some 400 banking institutions, and as such boasts an impressive Manhattan-like skyline that includes Europe's tallest office building. It's not all about transport and money though - Frankfurt invests more in the arts than any other European city, and has a string of museums, galleries and festivals to satisfy all tastes. It is also a fascinating cosmopolitan melting pot, with a quarter of its inhabitants of foreign nationality, and maybe it's just this that makes it such a fun and interesting place to learn a language.
