To be in Naples is to be a spectator and the protagonist of an endless and unpredictable theatrical performance. You won't necessarily have the script but that's ok - nobody else does either. You just need to let yourself fall into the organised chaos of the city and soon the general mayhem will be as forgotten as those first awkward Italian words. As Italy's third city, Naples is loud, brash and exciting. It also enjoys the most wonderful setting on a bay looking out across the sparkling Tyrrhenian Sea. With the rising cone of Vesuvius to the east, Neapolitans shout and beep their way through the various quartieri, or districts, past ancient monuments, exquisite buildings and hidden piazzas…and at the end of it all, they know how to serve what's considered to be the best pizza in Italy.
