| South Africa is the top tourist destination in sub-saharan Africa, and is likely to draw even more visitors after hosting the 2010 Football World Cup. South Africa’s social history is one that has commanded significant global interest, and effects of the country’s former apartheid government are still evident today. Although it’s a country that still has its fair share of problems, they never manage to overshadow South Africa’s stunning main attractions. World-class wildlife-watching, vibrant, cosmopolitan cities, and awesome natural scenery that includes Table Mountain, the fertile valleys of the Western Cape and the vast Kalahari Desert are all there waiting to be explored.
