:: Welcome to San Sebastian

Much lesser known that its coastal Spanish counterparts, San Sebastian is perhaps better left this way. Those of you who do choose to go here to learn Spanish will not need to be told why. The incredible golden beach is worlds away from the crowded, touristy ones of the southern Costas, and a mecca for surfers, while the town itself is a delightful mix of Basque and Spanish tradition, surrounded by the lush green hills of Gipúzcoa. San Sebastián is also one of the top spots in Spain for going out, boasting wonderful restaurants specialising in seafood and nouvelle cuisine and thriving tapas bars that jostle for space in the Parte Vieja. It's no wonder that the locals are so proud of their city and welcoming to visitors who venture to this northern corner of Spain.
