The capital of Spain's Galicia region, Santiago de Compostela boasts the impressive title of 'World Heritage City'. As the label suggests, it's a city with huge historic and cultural significance that has attracted visitors not just for decades but for centuries gone by. Santiago de Compostela is probably most well-known as the end destination for the thousand-year old Way of St James pilgrimage, but is also famous as a centre of learning and is in fact home to one of Spain’s oldest and most prestigious universities.
