:: Welcome to Cardiff

As the capital city of Wales, Cardiff is a place that is intensely proud of its Welsh heritage and nationality. Cardiff is the seat of the Welsh Assembly, home of the Welsh National Museum and Gallery, and proud owner of the awesome Millennium Stadium – built to accommodate two of Wales’ great passions, music and rugby. Historically a working-class port town, Cardiff has transformed itself into a cosmopolitan university city with endless entertainment options centered around the new ‘Cardiff Bay’ recreation area. It’s a really fun place to learn English, and will provide a great base for exploring Wales' beautiful hills and valleys too.

Although Cardiff is in Wales, English is the main language. The English spoken in Cardiff is the standard form, but Welsh speakers have a particular accent that gives it a gentle rhythm and a really nice sound.

The English school in Cardiff offers a range of English courses, including General English, Intensive English, Business English and Exam Preparation English. Students are placed in home stay accommodation, which assures them an interesting insight into Welsh culture and first-hand experience of the friendliness for which the Welsh are so well-known.
