Located on the River Dee in North West England, close to the border with Wales, Chester is one of the best-preserved walled cities in the UK. Dating back 2,000 years to Roman times, it was once the principal town of England and has retained many relics, such as its amphitheatre, alongside subsequent elegant Victorian and Georgian architecture. The city is a popular shopping centre, with its unique ‘rows’, or two levels of shops, dating from medieval times. It also boasts a thriving arts and culture scene, many fine restaurants, traditional old pubs alongside smart wine bars, and one of Britain’s best zoos.
As a place to learn English, Chester offers the best of both worlds; it is big enough to offer a good range of services, but not so big as to be impersonal. So you will have plenty to do outside class, yet find it easy to practise your English with the locals and with the friends you make in class. In addition to your English course, we offer comfortable homestay accommodation in Chester which offers you the ultimate immersion in English culture.
