:: Welcome to London - Islington

Islington is a lively and historical district just to the north of central London. It is close to the city’s West End, shopping and attractions, but remains less touristy than the capital's busy central areas. Students who come to learn English in Islington are spoilt with a choice of 9 theatres, 6 cinema screens, 30 exhibition centres, 4 swimming pools and countless bars, restaurants and music venues – there certainly isn’t a shortage of things to do after class! Islington also boasts its own open-air antiques market and attractive Regent’s Canal, a waterway with a busy towpath shared by walkers and cyclists alike.

Students taking an English course in Islington should be aware that as the school is quite central, accommodation may be located further away (up to 45-60 minutes by public transport). Islington is very well served by transport links, with Angel underground station in its centre, and King’s Cross and St Pancras mainline stations less than 10 minutes away.
