:: Welcome to New York - Soho

Located in downtown Manhattan, SoHo is a trendy part of New York that has traditionally been a haven for artists, boasting large lofts that act as living and work space, a number of boutique shops and plenty of fashionable restaurants. It is also home to the world’s largest collection of cast-iron architecture, dating back to the mid 19th century. Together, its artistic reputation and attractive architecture make it a popular district for visitors and students. SoHo's name is a literal abbreviation of ‘South of Houston’ (‘Houston’ being Houston Street), and it is close to Greenwich Village, China Town and the financial district.

If you choose to learn English in SoHo you will meet students from all over the world, have the opportunity to mix with Americans, and enjoy activities organised by the school with the friends that you meet in class. You will have ample opportunity to practise the language both on your English course and as you explore New York in your free time. Accommodation can be arranged in homestays – standard or executive – or in a student residence, but it’s worth bearing in mind that accommodation in Manhattan can be anywhere on the island, so you should expect a journey of up to 40-45 minutes by public transport.
