If you are coming to learn English in New York and want to be right in the middle of the action, Times Square is for you. The backdrop of countless Hollywood movies, and surrounded by many of New York’s iconic landmarks, Times Square is a major commercial intersection in New York’s popular Manhattan district. Illuminated night and day by animated neon signs and bang in the middle of the lively Theatre District, it is easy to see why it is nicknamed ‘The Crossroads of the World’. Times Square is also well known for its spectacular New Year celebrations, so if you time your English course right you could be counting down to midnight with the thousands who congregate here.
If you take your English course in Times Square you will not be short of things to do after class. There are plenty of entertainment options nearby, and the school will organise a range of social and sporting activities for you to enjoy after class with the friends that you meet on your course. As the school is located in Midtown Manhattan, you should expect a journey of up to 30 minutes by public transport from the school to your accommodation, which may be in a comfortable homestay or student residence.
