Santa Barbara lies on the West Coast of the United States, in between Los Angeles and San Francisco and within an area that is sometimes referred to as the American Riviera. Sandwiched between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Ynez mountains it offers some stunning scenery and lots of beautiful beaches for sunbathing, swimming and a range of other water-sports. Santa Barbara itself is a relatively small city, which makes it very easy to explore on foot and gives it a friendly atmosphere that is really well-suited to young visitors.
