Capital of the Piedmont region in northern Italy, Turin is known for many things; it’s the birthplace and home of many famous Italian car brands, such as Fiat; sitting south of the glorious snow-capped Alps, it played host to the 2006 Winter Olympics and, for the sweet-toothed, it is the birthplace of solid chocolate, celebrated each year with an indulgent two-week Piedmontese chocolate festival known as CioccolaTÒ.
