Today, Almeria is known as a small, modern city that boasts a temperate climate and some of the nicest beaches in the whole of Andalucia. One of its most famous features, though, is the historic Alcazaba, a large Islamic fort which dominates the city. The city’s Muslim rule ended at the end of the fifteenth century, when the city was taken over by the Catholic Monarchs and its Muslim population expelled.
Almeria has its own, small airport with some international flights, but the larger airports of Murcia, Granada and Malaga are also easily accessible. More about Almeria Compare Spanish courses in Spain
