The school is situated in impressive premises about one and a half kilometres (easy walking distance) from the city centre. The school is in a beautiful Victorian building and has good facilities including a computer room and language laboratory. The school has a large garden which all students can use. The school has a warm, welcoming atmosphere and offers a high degree of individual attention. It is open six days a week which means that every Sunday there is a teacher to help and advise you.
Oxford is a small city, known throughout the world for its famous university. The university was founded in the twelfth century and now has about 30,000 students. This means that there are lots of cultural events to discover such as theatre, concerts, modern and classical art and open lectures on many subjects. There is a lively social scene in Oxford with restaurants offering cuisine of all types. The school organises a wide range of social events.
Out and About
As good a landmark as any is the medieval Carfax Tower, offering a wonderful view of the city as well as a useful means of orientation when setting off round OxfordÂ’s many colleges and courtyards. Each with its own character and list of former celebrity students, Christ Church boasts EnglandÂ’s smallest cathedral, the choir at Magdalen College religiously sees in May Day with a hymn at 6am, and dinner at Queens College is still announced with a trumpet. And where else would you find all these students but at the famous Bodleian Library, with its outstanding Gothic Divinity School. But of course itÂ’s not all about work, and Oxford does its students proud with a equally fine range of eating and drinking establishments - just look beneath the surface of the expensive tourist and parent traps and youÂ’ll find a delightful range of cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes.
