With its mild climate and attractive coastline linking miles of white, sandy beaches with rugged inlets and cliff tops, it’s no wonder that Brittany attracts thousands of holidaymakers each year. The city of Brest is located in the Finistère department of Brittany, and is best known as one of France’s most important naval ports. It’s not only sailors that you’ll see in abundance in Brest though – the city is also home to a big and prestigious university, which means that there are lots of students and plenty to keep them entertained. Brest has a range of lively bars and cafés, as well as plenty of restaurants serving great seafood and the delicious local speciality, scallops.
The French school in Brest offers General, Individual and Combined French courses, to cater for a range of requirements. All are offered at a variety of levels and lengths. Accommodation options include a private apartment, a room in a student residence and lodgings with a local French-speaking host family who will be happy to teach you about the Breton way of life.
