Located in the Savoie area of France, Chambery is an attractive town with a wealth of historic buildings and some fantastic views of the Alps. It is located near some of the best ski resorts in Europe, the largest natural lakes in France, and the stunning Chartreuse and Vanoise natural parks too. One of the town’s most famous features is its chateau, which dates back to the 13th century, and was the home of the dukes of Savoie until Turin became the capital of the province. Chambery has good national and international transport links, with both a mainline railway station and an international airport.
