Located halfway up the western coast of France, La Rochelle is a fun and dynamic city that is home to thousands of students. One of the real highlights of the city, and possibly its most famous feature, is the beautiful old harbour and its two towers - key to the city's defence in the Middle Ages. La Rochelle was one of France's main ports for many centuries, and has further historical significance with its link to the Knights Templar, who made La Rochelle their main Atlantic base. There are plenty of things on offer for visitors to the city, including pleasant shopping areas and a vast array of bars and restaurants. Tourist features unique to La Rochelle include its aquarium, regarded as one of the biggest and best in Europe, and the nearby Ile de Ré, a beautiful island connected to La Rochelle by a 2.9km long bridge - perfect for anyone who likes outdoor pursuits such as cycling and watersports.
Students learning French in La Rochelle can choose from a General French, Combined French or Intensive French course. The school offers a truly lovely learning environment, with a range of fantastic facilities that include a modern learning centre, computer room, café and outdoor terrace. It enjoys a great location, close to both the town centre and the sea.
