The capital of Bavaria, Munich is everything you'd expect of a typical, and stereotypical, German city. You’ll find beer and sausage in abundance, and you may even see the odd pair of Lederhosen. As one of the most visited tourist destinations in Germany, it could be suggested that the existence of these in what is now an extremely modern and affluent city is only for the visitors, but somehow this seems unlikely…Munich is a city that is very proud of its identity and traditions, and is happy to show them off. Students learning German in Munich will be spoilt for choice in their free time – there are scores of museums and attractions to explore, including the English Gardens, and the famous Olympic Stadium. Munich is surrounded by some stunning scenery too though, and a short journey out of the city will take you to some fantastic hiking and biking trails and ski resorts in the winter.
German courses on offer in Munich include General, Individual, Intensive and Exam Preparation programmes. There are two German schools to choose from, one in the central Altstadt (old town) and another in the tranquil area of Neuhausen, just four tram stops from the city centre. Students can choose to stay in a student residence, a private apartment, a hostel, or with a German-speaking host family, depending on the school they choose.
