Capital of the Piedmont region in northern Italy, Turin is known for many things; it’s the birthplace and home of many famous Italian car brands, such as Fiat; sitting south of the glorious snow-capped Alps, it played host to the 2006 Winter Olympics and, for the sweet-toothed, it is the birthplace of solid chocolate, celebrated each year with an indulgent two-week Piedmontese chocolate festival known as CioccolaTÒ. Turin also holds its own in the academic world, with a renowned university and a number of splendid libraries. Students learning Italian in Turin will be spolit for choice when it comes to free time options outside of lessons, whether they want to shop, to enjoy the cafes and restaurants (and early evening aperativi) or to enjoy the Great Outdoors.
Course options in Turin include General, Individual and Combined Italian, along with the more specialist Italian and Dance – specifically Argentine Tango, for which Turin has become very well known.
