To give it its full name, Pennsylvania Station is a major intercity train station and commuter hub in Midtown Manhattan. It is one of the busiest stations in the world, serving 600,000 passengers each day. It is located below Penn Plaza, an office, entertainment and hotel complex that includes the indoor arena of Madison Square Garden. With its great location between 7th and 8th Avenues, and excellent facilities right on the doorstep, Penn Station is a great place to base yourself to learn English in New York. Times Square and the Empire State Building are within walking distance, while SoHo and Central Park are just 15 minutes away by subway.
The school is located a few blocks from Penn Station, and is the cheapest school that we work with in New York. Teaching English to thousands of students each year, it has 67 classrooms spread out over 5 floors, and a maximum class size of 25 students. This makes it a good budget option to learn English, although you should note that its size makes it difficult for each student to receive individual attention. You will meet people from all over the world on your course and have the opportunity to practise your English through activities organised by the school. While studying at Penn Station you should expect to travel up to 30 minutes to your accommodation, which can be arranged in a homestay in Manhattan or a student residence in Manhattan or Queens.
