Tropea
Occupying the foot of the Italian boot is Calabria, a region of unspoilt natural landscape, lush green vegetation and virtually untouched beaches. On the bridge of this foot, roughly where the shoe laces would be, is Tropea, a pretty little town perched 42m above the deep blue Tyrrhenian Sea. It is about 10km north-east of Capo Vaticano and boasts the region’s most attractive piece of coastline, with several long, sandy beaches just a short walk from town.
