Ecoles d'Japonais Kanazawa, Japon

Kanazawa

Kanazawa is the capital of Ishikawa Prefecture and is located in the central part of mainland Japan. The southeast of the city faces the mountains and the northwest faces the Sea of Japan. As a tourist destination, it is relatively off the beaten track for foreigners, but is a very popular option amongst Japanese tourists. During the second world war Kanazawa was Japan's second largest city (after Kyoto) to escape destruction, which means that parts of the old castle town, such as the Nagamachi samurai district and chaya entertainment districts, have survived in tact. It is these ancient residences and districts which form the main attraction in Kanazawa, along with Kenrokuen, one of Japan's three best traditional landscape gardens.
