Tropea, Italy

Italy is a country of contrasts, beauty and romance. It's also a country where good taste in fashion and food is a pre-requisite to survival.

More about Italy>>

:: Welcome to Tropea
Occupying the foot of the Italian boot is Calabria, a region
of unspoilt natural landscape, lush green vegetation and virtually
untouched beaches. On the bridge of this foot, roughly where the
shoe laces would be, is Tropea, a pretty little town perched 42m
above the deep blue Tyrrhenian Sea. It is about 10km north-east of Capo
Vaticano and boasts the region’s most attractive piece of
coastline, with several long, sandy beaches just a short walk from
town. But you don't come here if it's action you're after - yes,
there are plenty of cosy trattorias and a lively local marketplace,
but Tropea is still small-town Italy at heart.

Plus Points:

Quaint medieval town
Proximity to beaches
Plenty of outdoor activities
1 week courses available
Airport transfer included

Close by, there are also numerous villages and fruit and olive
groves, making the region an ideal place for walking; old churches,
castles and caves are just waiting to be discovered. The narrow,
quiet side roads provide safe routes for breath-taking panoramic
bike rides. Mountain bikes can be borrowed free of charge from the
school. You can spend your spare time swimming or sunbathing on
Tropea's beautiful beach, only 10 minutes from the school. Further
afield you can discover the numerous quiet sandy bays around Tropea
in the school's own motor boat.
