Your flight will likely be the greatest expense of your trip. Once in the country, you will find Argentina is cheap by European and North American standards. Buenos Aires is very reasonably priced and you can expect to spend very little money compared with European capitals.
The Spanish spoken in Argentina is not all that different from European Spanish; there are only small localized differences in vocabulary and grammar. The Argentinean accent is also one of the easier ones to understand, which makes it a great destination for learning Spanish abroad.
The best time of year to visit Argentina varies, depending on your interests. Just remember that Southern hemisphere seasons are the reverse of those in the Northern hemisphere, so winter in Argentina coincides with summer in Europe. If you’re into skiing, July and August offer the best snow conditions; if you prefer warmth and sunshine, you should go in January and February, when it’s very hot in Buenos Aires, but still cooler than cities like Mendoza in the west of Argentina.
